Brooklyn Brewery/SIGBI | Safe Spaces

How do you mobilise businesses to create more LGBTQ+ safe spaces?

Kicking off 2024, Brooklyn released a short film that called on businesses to adopt the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI) Safe Spaces certification. Many in the LGBTQ+ community are facing increasing hostility, and SIGBI certification is a way that organisations can help protect their staff. SIGBI also support grassroots organisations that support LGBTQ+ individuals and their families.

Developed by Improper and filmed with an all-queer crew at The Stonewall Inn, we featured drag icon and activist Marti Cummings and members of the NYC’s queer community.

This served as a rallying cry to the business community to create more LGBTQ+ Safe Spaces, and resulted in an influx of enquiries.
