We are Improper, a women led, majority queer creative agency that specialise in putting people at the heart of the story by building authentic communications that activate genuine social and environmental change. You will be working on exciting projects with diverse clients that range from global brands to small, grassroots organisations.

23 days holiday plus UK bank holidays and time off for Christmas or alternative cultural celebrations. 

Working from home: We are a fully remote agency and encourage applications from across the UK. We meet weekly at a working space in London for those that can make it and there is an expectation of occasional travel to London, when required. 

Flexi-time working: We understand that people work best at different times throughout the day and so we have office hours that are completely flexible outside of being available between 10-4pm. 

A four day week: We all take two Fridays off every month to allow for a healthier work/life balance and better work fulfillment. 

Protest days: We are rooted in our community and believe in the importance of collective action and the right to protest.  

 

We are looking for 

A super creative motion and social media designer with energy and vitality who is ahead of the curve. A specialist knowledge and understanding of social platforms and new trends is essential. You should have at least 3 years’ experience under your belt and looking for your next role in a very special and fast-growing agency. 

We are seeking a storyteller who is creative, challenging, enthusiastic and collaborative and who is able to take the initiative. We are looking for someone who brings energy, dynamism and flexibility to the role. You will need to be motivated, highly organised and creatively respond to briefs. 

You will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a project, from conceptual stages through to design development and delivery, across digital, social and motion. As such, you’ll need to have a great mix of ideas, design techniques and software skills as well as a positive and adaptable approach. 

You will be able to interpret and implement creative vision across a broad range of projects with varying timelines and turnarounds. 

We have a fantastic team culture and a real drive to get stuck in and crack on, you’ll be primarily working with the creative team and reporting directly to our creative director. We are looking for people who are dedicated, with a can-do attitude and who thrive on the freedom to grow and experiment. There is always an opportunity to share your knowledge and also learn.  

Skills & expectations 

  • Excellent design and animation skills. 
  • In depth knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Premier, Illustrator, Photoshop.
  • Designing social media content for social platforms – both stills and video
  • Video/audio editing and production
  • Ability to create visually engaging brand-boosting content
  • Research audience preferences and discovering current trends
  • Work closely with the wider content team to create an engaging social calendar
  • Produce reactive social posts with tight turnarounds
  • Understand the unique requirements of working in a small agency.
  • Experience of creating and building brands on social platforms as well as working within established brand guidelines.
  • An understanding of the possibilities and opportunities in digital, encompassing an interest in both the latest tech and new approaches to the more familiar.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proven social and digital design and animation experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to juggle and prioritise across multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of the creative team.
